   Economist: The Big Mac Index
An index that compares the purchasing-power parity of 120 countries based on the price of an identical item (in this case a Big Mac). This "PPP exchange rate" is then compared with actual currency values to determine which world currencies are undervalued or overvalued when compared with the dollar.

   Standard and Poor's
The home page of Standard and Poor's offers detailed information regarding global indices and international stock markets. Includes statistics, current news, and an Emerging Markets Database Links which offers a passageway to information on all 54 emerging markets covered by S&P indices, as well as to other emerging markets with an operating stock exchange and website. For even more emerging market information, S&P publishes an Emerging Stock Markets Review and the Emerging Stock Markets Factbook available for purchase.

   Barclays International: Business Banking
Barclays, an offshore banking firm, provides a number of reports for its customers. Economic reports include the European Economics Quarterly Forecast, UK Economic Quarterly Insights and Prospects, Euro Weekly, and Foreign Exchange Weekly. It also provides industry reports for the Construction, Manufacturing and Services sectors.

   BradyNet Financial Information

   Country Risk Analysis
Campbell R. Harvey of Duke University has created a detailed web site that provides a wealth of information on country risk analysis. Among the information included are: a detailed chronology of important financial, economic and political events in emerging markets; an exploratory investigation of country returns; expected returns and volatility in 135 markets. Also included are papers and presentations discussing political risk, economic risk, and financial risk as well as the challenges of obtaining emerging markets data.

   Deutsche Bank Research
The web site of Deutsche Bank Research provides a section with useful market information, quality macro-economical analysis, international news and headlines as well as an extensive financial glossary.

   FX Street
This site offers daily updated information about foreign exchange markets as forex news, market reports, forecasts, and real-time exchange rates and charts. A currency converter and historical tables are also available.

   IAS PLUS
Globalization of the world’s capital markets requires that companies report financial information on a comparable and transparent basis worldwide. Hosted by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, this site provides comprehensive information on the development of international accounting standards and the efforts of individual countries around the world to converge their standards around the highest quality benchmark. It includes links to over 200 sites relating to global accounting and financial reporting.

   IFC World
IFC World provides very useful information for the international business person interested in financial topics. Information is well laid-out and easy to understand. This is a great place to start if you are looking for simple answers to a wide range of international financial questions.

   IMF: International Capital Markets Interim Assessment
The International Capital Markets is an annual report published by the IMF. It reports on the developments and trends in the world's capital markets. Available online in PDF format. This is the 2000 Edition.

   International Credit Management Resources
This site provides several articles on practical aspects of corporate, bank and country risk management; an unusual credit insurance option; payment undertakings and risk sharing agreements as an alternative to Letters of Credit and a Bolero.net interim project report. The site has an index and is regularly updated. Use of the site is free. No registration required. Good resource for students and practitioners.

   International Finance Theory & Policy Analysis
The International Economics Study Center is provided by an academic from George Washington University and includes a text-book online format, so the site contains a vast amount of information for those interested in international finance and cross-country transactions. Also includes a good deal of international trade information and news available on the main page.

A Euromoney Institutional Investor company, ISI Emerging Markets delivers news, company and financial data directly from emerging markets to thousands of emerging markets specialists around the world. Subscription required for all features.

   Rowbotham KnowledgeNET's International Tax & Business Channel
The channel provides information and articles on many aspects of global taxation including tax provisions, conversions, trusts, gifts, transfer pricing, expatriation issues and more. A country profiles section is also featured.

   TaxUp
TaxUp serves as a portal to a plethora of tax related information for a large number of countries. A good number of links are provided for each country and the site has a good international focus. Tax information may be searched for by topic or geographic area. Also included in the site are useful items such as tax news, other tax links, business news, and links to financial markets.

   TD Commercial Banking’s Guide to Global Trade Finance
The Global Trade Finance section of TD offers tools and valuable resources on global finance. Also included is a "Crash Course in Trade Financing" as well as detail pages for Letters of Credit, export documents, etc. and a Global Trade Glossary. Also listed under Language category.
